Mystery Method: Pick-up and Seduction for Men
Since Neil Strauss released his book, The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists (which exposed the secretive world of pickup and seduction) there has been great interest in pickup and seduction techniques and tactics. In fact, The Game has lead to the creation of many new pick-up blogs, forums (such as: http://www.pick-up-artist-forum.com/) and websites.
One of The Game's main characters is Mystery (Erik Von Markovik). Mystery is the World's most renowned pick-up artist. He has single-handedly created and developed many of techniques and tactics used in the underground seduction community today. Including: the 3-second rule, pea-cocking, set dynamics, indicator of interest (IOI), last minute resistance (LMR), indicator of disinterest, stories and story telling, negs, and much more.
After years of pick-up and seduction, Mystery developed and field-tested a step-by-step system to find, meet, attract and seduce women. He called this system the Mystery Method. The Mystery Method (MM) is divided into three steps: the first step is Attraction, followed by Comfort and finally Seduction. Each step is broken down into three phases. Collectively, they are illustrated in a simple visual representation called the M3 Model.
The first step is Attraction: The main goal of attraction is begin a conversation with a girl and demonstrate that you're a likeable and quality person. After this, a girl needs to be qualified, a process whereby you demonstrate you're attracted to her for reasons other than her looks.
The second step is Comfort. During this phase a guy attempts to establish trust and a connection, and a sense that the interaction is genuine and worthy. According to Mystery, this is the one of the most important elements of the Game. Without building Comfort, seduction is unlikely to follow; especially for intelligent, attractive and socially savvy women.
The final step is Seduction. This ultimately ends in sex. According Mystery and other pick-up artists, it takes anywhere from 4 to 12 hours (collectively) to create a bond or connection sufficient for the initiation of a sexual relationship. Also, this step deals with a woman's natural apprehension towards sex with a new partner and different ways to overcome such uneasiness.
Why do men need such a system and women don't? Generally, women are more socially savvy because they tend to be involved in more interactions with men. Realize, for a man to be in the Game, he must actively approach women. If he stops doing this, he has taken himself out of the Game. But women cannot so easily make this choice. If a woman is attractive, men will approach her anyway. She needn't do anything but simply be there - she can't help it. For this reason, women usually have more calibration and social skill than men do. Ultimately, they've had more practice.
