SOMETHING YOU WORK FOR
by Ed Hirsch
Your success in any endeavor will be the direct result of
the personal giving of yourself. As an example ... the
word Sacrifice is defined by Webster as 1: an act of
offering to deity something precious; esp : the killing
of a victim on an altar 2: something offered in sacrifice
and 3 a: destruction or surrender of something for the
sake of something else b : something given up or lost
the sacrifices made by parents.
The blood, sweat and tears ... or the labor of your hands
(of your being) is what brings the fruit of all personal
effort.
Like the Refiner (who melts metal with fire), the success
seeker must learn to separate the impurities from the
precious metal. My analogy lends to an awareness that only
through our personal toil, or struggles, do we even learn
the truth behind whatever it is we seek. That's right,
simply put, our trial and error along with the appropriate
amount of time for the learning curve to *kick in* and
you Get It!
Once you have set your goals of higher purpose, only then,
is when you provide meaningful, significant and well-thought
out brain energy, time, money and effort. When you invest
yourself in yourself, transformation will occur. All the
cells
in your body rearrange themselves around this (maybe ;-).
I cannot imagine this to produce a negative result,
only positive!
A personal commitment to yourself, with regards to how badly
you must achieve your aspirations, is required from you.
From this, your life will be guided in an improved
direction.
Only God knows ... you may even achieve a dream or two.
And THAT would be Something To Work For!

Ed Hirsch
