Paying For Visitors (What Not To Do)
by Tiffany Sutton
In over 3 years, I have yet to encounter ONE targeted visitor package that ever worked. There are numerous companies online selling you "10,000 Visitors" for a price. Specifically, where are these visitors from, Neptune? Could they be any more vague? "Targeted visitors" means they might speak or read English. That's not saying a lot these days. They have not indicated an interest in what you are doing. There is software that enables many of these companies to show "hits" by appearing to show your website over and over.
I have proven this time and time again by literally shutting off all my other advertising to see what they will do for me. What they did for me was the equivalent of putting a "Business Opportunity" sign in my backyard, facing the fence. They always have a "third party company" who shows a chart of the "traffic" they are supposedly sending to me. Well, I have a back office or statistics page with every single affiliate program and business I participate in. This is where I check my stats, as they show the valid hits and generally where they came from. Most businesses you will participate in offer very advanced statistic tracking programs for their affiliates. (These are the statistics you should go by.)
I recently told someone I purchased one of these packages from, "I am shutting off all my other advertising, so if you are sending me bogus hits, I will know it." They had the opportunity to do provide some real results and I would have happily notified everyone I work with about them. Well, for that entire week, I didn't turn off any of my other advertising, however, my website stats did not increase by even the smallest percentage.
I have spoken to other internet marketers on this matter and they have never purchased a package they received results or real traffic from either. The best quality visitor is the one who is searching for what you are offering and chooses to visit your page. If there is a legitimate traffic package out there, I have yet to find it. I have spent thousands of dollars enough to know what I am talking about.
