Dear Sharon in Houston,
Offline advertising can a very effectiveway to promote any web business, butas you discovered, it is very expense.
However I know a couple of very savvyonline business people that use a lowtech form of offline advertising that worksvery well and doesn't cost much.
They use a word processing program tomake up handbills promoting their webbusiness and distribute them by thethousands. The only cost is the paperand toner for their copy machine.
The distribution cost is their time andthey enjoy getting outdoors a few hourseach week, besides it is great exercise.
They take the handbill door-to-door andplace them under the windshield wipersof autos at various malls.
Give this a try, but be sure to check thelaws in your area about such activity.
Good luck and let me know how it worksfor you. I will share your experience withmy readers.
