Are People Robbing You Without A Gun?

For a while now I have been reading about
loss of sales commissions due to someone
stealing affiliate url's.
I never worried about it much as I use a
service that they cannot steal the download
link or change the nickname or whatever.
Well now there is a new game in town. Here
is the way that this one works.
Someone makes a purchase of one of your products
and immediately emails you that your download
link is broken and they want an immediate refund.
Not an email asking, how can I download my purchase
but I want a refund immediately.
They use an address half way around the world as
well as a hidden email address.
The last person to pull this on me, used these tactics
but I was able to check his email address and it was
yahoo.com.
If someone lives in a different country, yahoo adds
to the address like yahoo.com.uk
The thing that is happening is this, they purchase, ask
for an immediate refund while all the time they are
downloading the purchase.
Now here is the really good part. We all want to have
great customer service so we refund the money immediately
only to find out the credit card was a fraud.
Now they have your product, plus the money you refunded to
them and you are out your product plus the money they say
they paid you.
No matter how careful we are, there are those that will
find a way around it to get our products for nothing.
