1. ON SPECIAL OFFERS AND INVITATIONS
Finally, a book that helps you solve difficult problems,
fast. 'Without a path of resilience, success often results
from a lucky intersection, not an ability to respond out of
design, and is like the shifting sands in a desert-- here
today and gone tomorrow in many cases.' A shift in focus is
being advocated with the CPR System to put efforts towards
creating effective design rather than changing the person.
Have you ever thought about being a well paid speaker?
Learn how to connect with your audience? Persuade people to act
on what you say? You can get answers to these questions and
more at: Approach the Coach. Go to www.schrift.com/approach
and ask me your number-one question about speaking skills or
speaking professionally. I will answer your questions by
email within 48 hours.
What if you could have two coaches sitting by your side and
guide you through the skill of speaking confidently and
persuasively? Now you can. An Audio CD , Power Presentations
for Professionals, will help you master a few simple, yet
sophisticated strategies. Do you want to learn how to give a
compelling speech? Would you like to know what sets leaders
apart? Are you ready to prepare a speech that hits your
audiences hot buttons? In this audio CD, two professional
speech coaches share the lessons theyve learned from their
combined 46 years in the field. High content and useful
application for business professionals, emerging speakers
and coaches. Click here for full description and to order.

2. ON STOPPING
Are you able to come to a stop in your life, even for one
moment? What would happen if you did? Spiritual teacher, Jon
Kabat-Zinn suggests that we stop all the doing and shift
into the 'being mode' for a moment. So, maybe I don't need
to make one more phone call right now. Maybe, I don't need
to read something just at this moment. Maybe, I don't need
to answer all my emails today. Jon reminds us that when we
'stop' we can be more present.
The Coach realizes . . . that when I 'stop,' I am here, and
life gets simpler, more vivid and richer.
3. ON TERMINATING A RELATIONSHIP
Warren Wertheimer reminds us that in any relationship, with
members of your staff or in your personal life, there will
be conflicting desires and points of view, and someone may
choose to get hurt. (from 'Outrageous Ideas that Work in
Business)
Act with integrity and speak your truth, even if the other
person feels hurt.
To feel hurt by actions of others is your choice.
To connect with others, share your feelings, not your
opinions.
Rarely does one terminate an employee too soon; it is often
deferred well beyond the time when taking action would
benefit all parties..
When any relationship ends, it invariably was not working
for either party.
The Coach thinks . . . it is difficult to follow through on
decisions where someone might be hurt as a result.
4. ON YOUR WAY UP
Georgette Mosbacher, president, CEO of the Borghese
cosmetics company, shares some of her tips for making it to
the top:
Have tenacity. Failure is a detour sign. Move on.
Beware of well-meaning people. Listen to your healthy inner
voice.
Entrepreneurs need to think on a global level, beyond the obvious markets.
Speak up. Know who to ask, when to ask and how to ask.
Be patient with yourself - no need to map out your entire life.
The Coach believes . . . it is better to ask, 'Am I doing
it?' instead of 'Am I doing it right?'
5. ON LAUGHTER
According to Life Learning, when kids laugh and act silly
they are not only having fun, but they are also training
their brains and practicing their social skills, logical
thinking and creativity. If laughing is a complex activity
that uses many of the same cognitive skills needed for
problem solving, then we adults need to engage ourselves and
others in more laughter and silly behavior to look at
situations from various viewpoints and to put them into
perspective. A good message here for professional speakers
on how to engage their audiences.
The Coach asks . . . who can you joke around with today?
