What Every Manager Should Know About How to Use Their Most Precious Possession Preciously

Imagine how freely commuter traffic would flow in the mornings if you and your employees were to leave home one hour earlier than you do now! Not only would the traffic congestion be alleviated, but everyone involved would reap additional benefits as well.
The person who gets up and begins his day immediately, tackling the first and most important job first - even though he might not feel like it - soon finds himself with plenty of time left over. The opposite of this is just as true: He who starts things late, or can't seem to get started, never seems to have enough time. His (or her) life is filled with the "Haste makes waste" syndrome.
Time has always been our worst enemy and best friend, next in line with the way we treat ourselves - sometimes. When we are in the mood we can be our own worst enemy or own best friend. It's all a matter of perception.
Our successful life is the sum of our productive years. And our successful week is a small collection of our successful days. It all comes down to how we spend our days. Or, more specifically, how we spend our time.
Here are several things you can do to increase the effective use of your time as an Executive, Manager, or Small Business Owner:
*Resolve to go to work at least one hour earlier each day.
*Make a small list of the most important things that need to be done.
*Rank them in order of priority.
*Tackle the list during that extra hour every morning.
*Go at a moderate pace. What you cannot accomplish today goes on your list of things to do for tomorrow.
Try this for a while and stick with it. You will be pleasantly surprised to see how much work you will be producing, how much more friendly and hospitable you will become, and you will be on top of things.
Remember: When you maximize your potential and help others to maximize theirs, everyone wins. When you don't, we all lose.
